elevator pitch

An elevator pitch is 60 seconds or less
enthuse mini-guide: elevator pitch
An elevator pitch is the 60-second (or less!) explanation of your business and what you’re looking for that you would give to your dream contact, if you found yourself next to them in an elevator.
Your elevator pitch is the most concise way to introduce yourself to others at networking events.
Here’s how to put your elevator pitch together:
1. Start with your name
It’s obvious, but many people forget to give their name, so the first line is always “My name is ….”.
2. Say what you do
Next you need to tell people what you do. I like to be simple and direct, e.g. “I am a ….”, or “I run a company that …”.
3. Tell them why it’s important
Explain the benefit of what you do with the words “which means that…”. Focus on the reason why your client would use you, e.g. “you don’t have to worry about…”, or “there is no need for….”.
4. Explain what you’re looking for
People will want to help you out, but you have to tell them how. Say “I’m looking for…”. This could be a connection to a specific company, a description of your ideal client, or a contact that would help you move your business forward.
5. Describe any introductory or promotional offers
If you have any offers available, finish with that. This could be the hook that means they recommend you to your dream contact.
What it sounds like when you put it all together:
This is my one of the elevator pitches that I use at events on a regular basis:
